Special Announcement
Make Music has announced that they are discontinuing development and support for Finale.
Activation and download of the current version will be available ongoing, currently with no cutoff date.
Finale will continue to run as is, for as long as it’s supported by the computer’s operating systemA system is one line of connected staves across the page..
Meanwhile, MakeMusic is offering a very attractive “cross-grade” price to get Dorico Pro (currently 5.1) and is recommending its users migrate to Dorico. A crossgrade code can be purchased from your MakeMusic account, then used to purchase Dorico Pro on the Steinberg website.
Dorico is very different from Finale in how it operates, including in basic functions like notea symbol used to represent a specific pitch and duration entry. It also has many features that Finale lacks, and is in many ways a far superior program – but there is a considerable learning curve – it’s very different.
We’re here to help Finale users in either case – to remain Finale users and take maximum advantage of its features including learning about available scripting tools and other methods of improving workflow –
or, to help Finale users transition to Dorico and understand the fundamentalLowest, most predominant perceived pitch of a musical tone differences between the 2 programs.
